Empire Homes has purchased land in southern Welland (Dain City Area)

As a part of the future development by Empire Homes, a Multi-Purpose Court was proposed located at the WIFC North Course

The Multi-Purpose Courts will be located at the west of the upper parking lot

The Multi-Purpose Courts include:

  • Clubhouse
  • Tennis courts
  • Pickleball courts
  • Basketball (full and half) courts
  • Volleyball courts

The Multi-Purpose Courts provide a great opportunity for the growth of outdoor sports within the community

A business plan is being created to address the following items that will impact events at the WIFC:

  • Parking
  • Traffic Flow
  • Usage during events

Construction has begun and is scheduled to be completed by the spring of 2022.

Jumpstart Inclusive Muti-Sport Court

Jumpstart is gifting an Inclusive Multisport Court enhancement as a sub-facility within the Empire Multi-Purpose Court to the City of Welland

The gift also includes an inclusive Splash Pad at the WIFC

  • High contrast four-square court & Hop Scotch
  • Contrasting colours to support visual impairment
  • Shaded double wide benches for improved accessibility
  • Accessing seating and tables
  • Shaded accessible bleachers
  • 4 double wide entry points
  • 4 LED overhead court lights
  • Cushion Comfort Plus Laykold acrylic serfacing system
